If
you ceased striving ambitiously toward goals, you would live in a timeless
realm. You would live in this world but your interior essence would not be made
of it. Rather, you would find true life flowing from within and above, out into
the world causing many wondrous effects. This is not to say that you should not
do honest work, heaven forbid! But all separation from God comes by means of
this daydreaming, this savoring in the imagination the validations of pride. If
by such acquisitions man aspires to become God, the name of such laboring is
the old pride of ambition and the payment for this work is death.
You
need not actually acquire or attain to vainglorious achievements, for the sin
lies in the intent. The will merely needs to savor the form in the imagination
to fall into the realm of time. For the mind is composed of time/space matter.
In his mind, the ambitious soul lives captive to time past and time future, a
prisoner of backward and forward moving thoughts. The adventuring soul that
enters the never-never land of fantasy moves away from God, seeking rather his
own glory and so it comes to pass that in reaching to clothe himself in an
image, he leaves the Now Reality and floats away in an illusion. What does he
find if and when he arrives at his objective? Disappointment, frustration and
emptiness!
The
second commandment ever given to man in his fallen state was to work by the
sweat of his brow. The intent was to humble the soul and keep the soul close to
God. Man was to discover that when the hands were busy, the mind would be free
to experience the secret knowledge of rebirth, leading the soul to the eternal
realm of endless discovering. Alas, through his selfish labors toward goals,
man falls to ever lower dimensions.
"Just as sin is a movement of
the will's intent, so does salvation from sin originate in the mind by the
soul's yearning”.
