The Psychology of Rebellion and Conformity
Human beings respond not only to their physical environment but are constituted (unlike animals) to react in the presence of evil or good. Once involved with a seductive evil, rebellion against it to save yourself only involves you more deeply. As if stuck in a swamp, the more you struggle the more you sink and the first order of business for any self-respecting alligator around will be to drag you deeper into the swamp to deal with you in his world on his terms. You fall into the swamp of the injustices of life by responding to them with judgment. Rebellion then makes you struggle and sink to the hell lurking below. The power of any corrupt authority ultimately depends on sucking you in through your reactions to it, creating a system in which rebel and conformist engage in constant struggle.
Corrupt authority employs cruelty, hypocrisy and unreasonableness to provoke the extreme reactions in its victims on which its power depends. In a corrupt school system, for example, young people have little choice but to rebel violently against or conform to the cruel, hypocritical and unreasonable pressure. No middle ground can be tolerated here if the powerful elite are to prevail.
If government were just, there would be no inflation or depressions; society would move smoothly in continuous prosperity but in a deteriorating society, the smell of power attracts the slyest, lowest, most ambitious types. Because of greed, government creates the plunder of inflation then solves that problem in the extreme by the plunder of depression and the masses reacting in the extreme to this cruel victimization draw out of their children reactions of rebellion and conformity. The whole fish begins to stink from the head down.
