sin (denial) began as a freewill choice but after that choice was made, the
choices of the first man and his progeny were all compulsive, built into the
very fabric of our being. We are all born bond slaves to sin, living as
automatons with our so-called "choices”. Pride fills us with false hopes of
dreams coming true, as it did Adam and we delude ourselves with the illusion
that we are free, self-actuating individuals.
When
modern Adams become aware of the awful truth of their compulsiveness, they flee
to the bosoms of modern escapes for refuge and reassurance with pride so entrenched
in the fabric of our consciousness that it is not about to let us do anything
but choose people, places, things and experiences that will nurture and
reinforce our fallen condition.
In
our pride, we unconsciously choose the friendship of betrayers. The hell in
them reassures the hell in us. Thus, all the selfish choices of pride, our
"loves”, reinforce our compulsion to deny reality.
In
due time, we begin to realize that we have terrible problems with our decision
making. We move agonizingly from one extreme of indulgence to another,
struggling uselessly against our addictions with a failing will. While there
exists an endless variety of dead ends, we can come up against when we fail to
make right decisions, let me focus your attention now on the way men
"choose" women and why those choices turn out the way they do.
