WHY YOU CANNOT MAKE THE RIGHT DECISIONS
_________________________________________________________
CHOICE. . . DOES MAN HAVE IT?
For some strange reason we all believe that we are doing the right thing when we are making a serious mistake. Yet, in order for anything to be right we must have had two alternatives set before us so as to choose. Now, we claim that had we known better we would not have erred. But why didn't we know better? Why must we always hindsight everything? Hindsight is the Truth dawning on us in reverse.
Considering all of this, can it be said that an error has been committed because we did not have a choice of alternatives before we got involved? Why are we so cock-sure that we are right when we are not right? What makes us sure about the wrong choice--that is not really a choice at all? And if it is not really a choice because we had no knowledge of Truth, then why should we feel so guilty? What is all this talk about us being free moral agents? We must have an opportunity to choose right in order to choose rightly.
We must at least be aware of a right factor of determination. But upon making a mistake, we immediately claim that we were not aware of right. What is going on?
