In life, there are two "channels" you can tune into. One is the stick-and-carrot channel where you set goals which you believe will make you happy and then set out to achieve them. It doesn't work... So what is the other channel?
TO SET A GOAL IS TO create a distance between you and that goal. Time begins for you as you move toward your goal. Time would not exist for you were you to stay where you are.
Notice how time disappears when you sleep. Except when you lose yourself in work time, time drags as you journey toward objectives. Where there is no goal, there is no distance; where there is no distance, there is no time relevance, because you are already here.
If a goal were able to fulfill the soul's need, it could not cause frustration but it does. Thus without goals there could be no more frustrations. Then what is life without goals, you ask? What then is the aim of existence?
"If a goal were able to fulfill the soul's need, it could not cause frustration. But it does. Thus without goals there could be no more frustrations”.
