EMOTIONAL SECURITY: Soul Food from Satan
Current
schools of psychological theory make much of the human need for emotional
security and fulfillment, and we have come to accept such a need as a normal
basis for existence. So widespread is this belief that the average mind comes
to a contrary view of the matter with great trepidation, if not downright rejection.
Nevertheless, we have been brainwashed into a false belief. The truth is
exactly opposite to what we have always accepted as truth.
The
emotional security, love and sympathy we are taught to expect as a birthright
is positively poisonous to body functioning. What is worse, it corrupts our
souls. If we do not die from degenerative diseases or senility, we will witness
the total alteration of our minds and bodies from the direction intended.
How
emotional security accomplishes this deadly end is discussed in the first part
of this chapter. What it does to our natures and how it does so are fully
described. Then if you have the stomach for it, read on and find out why it is
so.
EMOTION AS SUBSTITUTE GRACE
Emotional
security is always a false security. Emotional fulfillment and the
"love" we receive from others is in reality the vital substance of
other people being served up to us on plastic platters - and thus displacing
God's true love.
Furthermore,
we are enticed into exchanging places with those who feed our ego. A common
example is the senile old mother who believes she has become her own daughter
and begins calling her daughter "mother." Again, there is the
frequent occurrence of the woman who starts "wearing the pants" in
the family situation, relegating the male "head of the house" to a
passive or feminine role.
Bear
in mind, however, that the tables are always reversed with time. Everyone and
everything that occupies the position of "servant" and
"lover" will someday become the "served" and
"loved" one in their turn!
