NO ONE NEEDS TO DIE
Introduction to JUDEO-CHRISTIAN MEDITATION
The following is a reading from the book of Wisdom.
“It was the devil's envy that brought death into the world.
God did not make death, nor does He rejoice in the destruction of the living, for
He fashioned all things that they might have being; and the creatures of the
world are wholesome, and there is not a destructive drug among them nor any
domain of the nether world on earth, for justice is undying. For God formed man to be imperishable; the
image of His own nature He made him, but by the envy of the devil, death
entered the world, and they who are in his possession experience it” - Wisdom 1:13-15; 2:23-24
Does
it not seem odd that men of science should waste so much time and money digging
up the past to discover the origin of man? The reason they do it is to take
away the guilt of origin.
God
help us all if the anthropologists succeed in persuading us that our ancient
ancestors were apes, whose even more distant relatives crawled out of the
primordial slime, because that would set fire to the downward course of our
natures; it would release our selfish, violent, lower-animal drives to rape,
steal, and kill one another. It would call for the disbanding of our police
force, the opening of the jails, the wiping of all laws from the books. We
would have indeed found the truth that makes (ape) men free. On that terrible
day we would have found the way to rise above the law, free to be our rotten
selves at last.
This
satanic argument would be the basis of world chaos because it could free us
from the bondage of the laws we need for a season. What is the point of law if
it is shown to do nothing but cage our true nature? From a scientific and
humanistic point of view, man-made laws stifle the evolutionary growth.
