There
is a clear relationship between stress and diseases of mind, body and soul.
Personal experience alone can reveal the truth of this fact.
One
of two things happens when you react to stress; if you are an outgoing, aggressive
type, strong in intellect or physique, your emotions will evolve you into an
intimidating bully. You will lose your humanity and you will, through guilt,
become addicted to hurting others. You will hate what you are becoming but you
will somehow blame others for what is happening to you. You will have contempt
for their weakness.
Fear
of what harm you might commit can make you timid. So even though you may be a
strapping big person you might shrink from a fight; while small people, taking
advantage of your false gentleness, make you mad again.
By
this example you can see how resentment can be responsible for aggression in
one type of person and fear in another. Furthermore, you can see how fear
produces aggression in the adversary while aggression produces fear in the
victim, a vicious cycle.
The
state of fear is just as much a failing as is the state of violence. Each
condition has its own brand of conflicts and diseases; expressions of
conflict. Each victim has his own kind of rage and judgment but the loser
judges others in his dream state.
The
dream state is where losers "find themselves" as they fall from grace
to the pressure of temptation. Once you begin to lose to pressure, chances are
you will react as a loser all your life and keep on losing. Pressed too hard,
your role can change but you can no more find contentment in the bully role
than in the cowardly one.
The
kind of confidence you seem to recover in your fantasies does not hold up under
pressure. Your pre-planned conversations and schemes collapse and your resentment
drive you deeper into that psychotic mental retreat.
