So
many healers theorize that our troublesome desires or thoughts are sex-based
and, again, come close to the truth but they twist it around to mean that we
need more sex. Their whole thesis rests on one simple fallacy: that we evolve
like animals and it is against our nature to resist what we feel. The truth
is, there is no such thing as a conscience created by teaching or training.
Instead, the conscience tends to conflict with, to resist, both training and
conditioning. True, many problems are sex-based.
Contemporary
scribes and Pharisees will never tell you the truth concerning your real origin
and identity. They maintain we are descendants of apes and it is normal for us
to be emotional and it is unnatural to restrain our "natural"
feelings. The truth is, we are human beings and should not live like animals.
We become animalistic only through weakness. True, we inherit a fleshly, fallen
animal state. Then, because of pride, we fall lower than our inherited animal
state, defending what we are and seeking security. There is a nature for
animals and one for people but those natures together conflict inside man. The
seeker is advised to read Roy Masters' book, “Sex, Sin and Salvation” for a
deeper insight into this subject.
When
you tempt a person, you make a monkey out of him. If he does not wish to
understand the error, he reaches for the very thing that made him that way—and
sees himself as a nice monkey and that is a typical male/female relationship.
Sex desire in man is an outcrop of this weakness used to the advantage of the
female manipulator. Your conscience will always bother you for being a male or
a female and for your futile attempts to find and maintain identity through the
sex experience which is why you need so much sex (which does nothing more than
make you miserable).
When
people continue to excite and anger and tempt us, we have not learned how to
remain unaffected; we respond. The animal desires which manipulators have
stirred up, build up inside us until we feel we are going to burst. Of course,
it is unnatural to repress these feelings! But look again; surely it is also
wrong to express them. Animals don't have that problem, because they are
animals. As animals, we have problems! Don't you see that if both alternatives
are wrong, our reaction must be at fault? Our reaction is the sap of the
fault, evidence of our slavery and ego weakness but we defend it all and get
worse.
