have to admit that my message is not very popular and it certainly isn't comÂmercial.
To be commercial a person has to be somewhat dishonest. You have to tell people
what they want to hear rather than what they need to hear, so I have a problem
even though I know how to be entertaining and make a lot of money and wield
influÂence. I even know how to do a Clinton but I could never compromise my
soul for the sake of worldly rewards and popularity. The fact remains that
somehow you admire the peoÂple who are successful.
drug addict admires the pusher and sees him as a model. The kids on the street
admire movie stars and musicians, guitar playÂers who gyrate on the stage in a
sexy way. There's something about the world out there that is stimulating and
exciting, making us want more and more of it until we have absorbed its
identity, we want to be like it and gradually it takes us over until we are no
longer ourselves but we just don't know that we have lost our God-given
identity to our role models. We have taken on the identity of othÂers so
thoroughly that we think it is our own.
you think you have your own identity? Are you sure that you have not been taken
over, that you are not living out of someone else's purpose? The answer to this
question is of the utmost importance because it will deterÂmine whether we hang
onto our much-vauntÂed freedoms in this country or lose them to a dictatorship,
a one-world "odorâ€.
Freud, in his book, "Civilization and Discontent†confirmed the
possibility of such a world as I have described. He said that society and human
nature have conflicting demands; hence, the whole society can be made mentally
ill. Have you considered the possibility that you are nutty, out of your mind
and that your children see that you are even though you don't? And that you
elect mentors in the same way that drug addicts elect drug pushers and
cannibals elect cannibal kings?
